Capricorn Season

In the darkest season, I choose what is worth carrying forward & commit

♑️ Capricorn Moments (Dec 21, 2025- Jan 19, 2026)

  • December 19th, 2025, @ 10:53 am CT: New Moon in Sagittarius *don’t forget to tune into the Moon Memos podcast, a full and new moon audio ritual.

  • January 6, 2026, Venus cazimi at 19 degrees Capricorn

  • January 9, 2026, Mars cazimi @ 10 degrees Capricorn

    • A cazimi is a moment when a planet is right next to the Sun in the sky. A planet is so close to the Sun that instead of being drowned out, it actually gets amplified. It can be a sudden insight, a sense of alignment between what you want and what you know; It’s not dramatic — it’s lucid.

Capricorn Season Notes

Capricorn is the season of becoming solid.

It begins at the Winter Solstice, when the light is at its lowest and quietly starts to return. That alone tells us everything: Capricorn is not flashy or loud. It works in the dark. It builds before it reveals.

Capricorn is a cardinal earth sign, ruled by Saturn.

  • Earth = reality, form, embodiment, what actually lasts

  • Cardinal = initiator, builder, architect of direction

  • Saturn = time, boundaries, responsibility, mastery, wisdom earned through experience

    Capricorn energy asks:

    • What is worth my effort?

    • What deserves my long-term attention

    • What am I willing to take responsibility for?

Here are some very Capricorn Energy “I am” statements. These are beautiful to meditate and/or journal on:

  • I am patient with the pace of real growth.

  • I am committed to what lasts.

  • I am allowed to move slowly and still be powerful.

  • I am becoming someone I trust.

  • I am allowed to rest without losing my worth.

  • I am not behind; I am on my own timeline.

🦄 Capricorn Season
Winter Solstice Ritual: The Inventory of What Endures

Capricorn theme: Discernment, sustainability, integrity with energy
Length: 15–30 minutes
Materials: paper/notebook and pen

Step 1. Arrive + Ground
Capricorn asks us to arrive fully in the body.

  • Sit or stand with both feet on the ground.

  • Take 3 slow breaths, longer on the exhale.

  • Place one hand on your body (heart, belly, or thighs)

2. Name the Year You’ve Lived

This is not a review for judgment—only truth.

Prompt: What actually supported me this past year?

Let answers be practical:

  • A habit that steadied you

  • A relationship that was reliable

  • A practice that sustained your nervous system

  • A structure that helped you function

Write these down under the heading: What Endured

3. Acknowledge What “Cost” Too Much

Capricorn is honest about energy expenditure.

Prompt: What drained me more than it gave back?

This might include:

  • Overgiving

  • A role you outgrew

  • A pattern of self-abandonment

  • A commitment that no longer fit your season

Write these under: What Cost Too Much

There is no shame. Just information.

4. Discernment Moment: Keep / Release

Now the core Capricorn act: choice.

  • Circle or underline 1–3 things in What Endured you are willing to carry forward consciously.

  • Choose one item from What Cost Too Much to release (not everything—Capricorn values restraint).

Write that one item on a separate piece of paper.

5. Release Gesture

Keep this simple and embodied.

Options:

  • Fold the paper and place it under a stone.

  • Tear it slowly and set it aside.

  • Hold it, exhale deeply, and say:

Capricorn releases without drama.

6. Closing Commitment

Return to what endured.

Say or write: I build with what sustains me. OR I choose what can last.

Sit for a few breaths.
