This week’s astrology is not here to be liked, and honestly, thank god. We’ve got Sun–Pluto truth serum in the air and Venus changing the rules of love, which means honesty is louder than charm, chemistry alone is no longer enough, and All About Love might as well be required reading. Think fewer vibes, more values, and a collective invitation to stop lying to ourselves romantically or otherwise. 💋

This Week in Transits

January 16 Sun and Pluto buddy up (a conjunction)
January 17 Venus enters Aquarius (she’ll be there about 25-ish days)N

This Week’s Transit Vibes IRL

Sun<>Pluto
When the Sun (our identity, consciousness, self) meets Pluto (power, death/rebirth, shadow, truth), this energy is asking us to loosen our grips on what we’ve outgrown, exposing what’s hidden, we stop ignoring what is not true.

During this time, we might feel less interested in being liked. Amazing.
There might be a commitment to what feels real and true.

Her Kind, a poem by Ann Sexton. There is so much Sun-Pluto meaning and expression in this poem; Sexton talks about an identity created through exile, intensity, and truth. There is a self that must die and be reborn to remain honest (that’s Pluto, baby)

I have gone out, a possessed witch,
haunting the black air, braver at night;

So good. This last line just gives me chills, “A woman like that is not ashamed to die./ I have been her kind.”

What an interesting writing prompt: (adjusting it a little)
A woman that is ___________
I have been her kind.

Venus—> Aquarius
This marks a shift in how we love, value, and relate. As Venus enters Aquarius, the tone of connection changes—less sentimental, more spacious, less performative. This energy asks for honesty. In our relationships, are we sharing values, not just chemistry?

Jillian on Love’s recent episode Lust Is Not The Same Thing As Love, is a perfect listen for this week as Venus moves into Aquarius. Jillian gets really honest about those relationships where the chemistry is just wild, and for a short time, you feel so alive and seen. This fire burns hot but short. I’ve been there, you’ve probably been there too.

“We are inspired to give to them, everything is about how they make us feel, we project this fantasy onto them, we project perfection onto them…. we think all our childhood wounds are going to be eased by the presence of this person because it feels so good….”

Girl, yes.

Those dreamy vibes when we think LOOOOOVE, but really it’s just another way we may be avoiding ourselves, bypassing some hurt, applying a bandaid. That’s ok too, sometimes we need a reprieve.

Extra Quips

  • I am dating someone, and he’s new, and I like him, and he never heard of This American Life. I sent this episode as a good place to start.

  • Speaking of this new man…. I asked him to read ‘All About Love’ by bell hooks. It’s a prerequisite.

Love, Coco
