The best and most appropriate way I can explain what a North Node is by this poem
The soul’s journey is a path of love,
A journey of light and grace,
A journey of surrender and trust,
A journey to the beloved’s embrace.
The journey begins with a longing,
A yearning for the divine,
A thirst for the nectar of love,
A desire for the eternal shrine.
The journey leads through many lands,
Through deserts and mountains and seas,
Through valleys of darkness and light,
Through forests of joy and peace.
The journey is a test of faith,
A challenge to the heart and soul,
A journey of surrender and grace,
A journey to the beloved’s goal.

The North Node in our charts is the direction our Soul is asking us to go this lifetime. Astronomically, the North Node is not a planet, star, or physical object. It is a mathematical point in space. The North Node is the point where the Moon’s orbit crosses the Sun’s apparent path (the ecliptic), moving northward. In Roman mythology, Mars is the God of war; he’s honored as the founder and protector of civilization. As an energy, Mars is courage, fight, competition, and action.
